Hi! I'm Sheila.
So happy you stopped by! Here's a little background on me and my business.

I’m a southern girl, born and raised in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. I grew up in a family that loved nature and books, and these two things still hold a special place in my heart.
I must have been around 12 when I got my first job as a candy striper at a local hospital. Other jobs during my school days included being a medical records assistant, nurse aide, office assistant, veterinary assistant, student reader, and student records clerk.

After graduating with bachelor’s degrees in English and Office Administration, I worked with non-profits in Tennessee, Maryland, and Florida, gaining experience in student services, youth ministry, magazine and book publishing (hello, Chicago Manual of Style!), education, and healthcare. My freelance career has offered opportunities to work as a proofreader, editor, desktop publisher, and organizer.
Although I’m not a big shopper, The Container Store is my favorite store, and I have TCS products in every room of my home. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking, do-it-yourself home improvement, gardening, reading, and sightseeing. I’m crazy about animals and have a soft spot for adult/older cats and cats with special needs; currently, I'm enjoying the company of Romeo, my senior rescue kitty.

Having my own business has been a dream for many years. It was only recently that I realized how similar organizing and editing/proofreading actually are. In both cases, you need someone who can cut through the excess “fluff” to uncover the real “stuff.” I have a heart for helping people, and I look forward to meeting you and helping you with your project!
Why FabCrab?
It’s pretty simple. My birth sign is the crab, and I always thought it would be fun to feature a crab in my business. Because I always strive to be fabulous and because I liked the alliteration of “fabulous crab,” FabCrab was born!
